Protein Packed French Toast

Protein Packed French Toast

As soon as I saw this recipe on Protein Pow, I just had to make it. This healthy, protein packed French toast peace of heaven is incredibly satisfying for anyone with a sweet tooth. It’s very filling too, especially when eaten with 100% rye or whole wheat bread. The perfect weekend treat after that morning run 😉

Ingredients:

2 eggs

¼ cup of vanilla protein powder

¼ cup of milk

1 teaspoon cinnamon

3-4 slices of bread (I used rye bread in the picture)

½ a banana

1-2 squares of dark chocolate (melt this over hot water)

Method:

Blend/whisk the eggs, protein powder, milk and cinnamon until you have a smooth batter. Dip the bread in the batter for a few minutes on each side so that it can soak up as much of it as possible. If you use rye, leave it a little longer as it does take some time to soak properly.

Put some coconut oil in a pan and fry away.

Add your toppings (in this case banana with melted dark chocolate) and enjoy every guilt-free bite.
